Troubleshooting
"There aren't enough photos to play"
A standard game needs at least 25 geotagged photos — photos that have location data saved in them — in your chosen photo source. To fix this:
- Check that Location was switched on in your Camera when the photos were taken.
- Grant Zoom Quest full access to your photo library in Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos.
- If you've restricted the game to a single album in Settings, make sure that album has enough geotagged photos, or switch back to your whole library.
- Remember screenshots are excluded automatically.
Photos won't load or the game won't start
- Photos are fetched from iCloud on demand, so you need an internet connection.
- Make sure iCloud Photos is turned on in Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Photos.
- Confirm you've allowed Zoom Quest to access your photos.
The timer ran out while the map was open
The countdown keeps running the whole round, even while the map is open. You must confirm your pin before the clock reaches zero — there are no late guesses. Higher levels have shorter timers, so confirm a little earlier as you climb.
I lost a life unexpectedly
In a standard game you lose a life if you skip, if the timer runs out without a confirmed guess, or if your guess is more than 150 miles off — even if it earned some points. Reach round 10 with all three starting lives to earn a bonus fourth life.
Managing your privacy settings
- Exclude locations — add places like home or work so photos taken within about a mile of them are skipped.
- Photo source — play from your whole library or a single album.
- Anonymous analytics — off by default; you can leave it off or turn it on in Settings.
- Game Center — on by default; turn it off in Settings if you'd rather not share scores.
Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
Daily Challenge
The Daily Challenge gives you one photo and one guess per day, with no skips and no lives. Your result is saved until midnight, and you can share a summary. A new challenge appears each day.
